Home Theater & Media Rooms
The difference between a room with a big screen and a genuine private cinema is almost entirely invisible. It is in the wall construction, the placement of absorption and diffusion, the riser height, the seating distance, the black level of a properly calibrated image.
The two are not the same room. A dedicated theater is a light-controlled, acoustically isolated space built for one purpose. A media room is a space you live in every day that also performs beautifully for film and television. We design both, from the room outward, in homes across the Atlanta metro and North Georgia, and we are clear about which one your house and your life are actually asking for. Sightlines and acoustics come first either way and dictate the architecture; the equipment is specified last, to serve decisions already made.
Then we calibrate, because a reference display that has never been calibrated is simply an expensive display.

These are the decisions that determine whether the finished result feels deliberate or approximate, and most of them are made long before installation.

Acoustics before equipment
Room dimensions, wall construction, isolation from adjacent rooms, and the balance of absorption to diffusion determine what is achievable. Excellent electronics cannot rescue a room that fights them.

Sightlines set the section
Screen height, riser height, and row spacing are geometry. We resolve them on drawings during design, because ceiling height and structure are not negotiable later.

Light discipline
Black level is destroyed by reflection. Surface finishes, fabric selection, and controlled light, including full blackout shading, are part of the design, not an afterthought.

Heat, power, and access
Equipment needs ventilation, clean power, and a route for service. Planning the rack location early keeps noise and heat out of the room and keeps future service uneventful.

How much does a home theater cost in Atlanta?
It depends almost entirely on the room. In Atlanta, a dedicated cinema built with acoustic isolation, tiered seating, and calibrated projection is a construction project as much as a technology one, while a beautifully executed media room in an existing space is a different scope. We size the design to your room and your priorities during the consultation, then document it precisely.
What is the difference between a media room and a dedicated home theater?
A dedicated theater is a purpose-built, light-controlled room optimized for one activity, usually with tiered seating and acoustic treatment. A media room is a living space that performs well for film and television while remaining a room you use every day. Both can be excellent; they are simply different briefs.
Where do you install home theaters?

Most Atlanta home theater installations begin during new construction or a remodel, which is when acoustics and sightlines are easiest to get right, though we also convert existing rooms.
Do you calibrate the picture and sound?
Always. Calibration is what turns specified equipment into a finished experience, measuring and correcting the display’s color and grayscale, and tuning the audio system to the room’s measured response. An uncalibrated system is never performing to what it cost.
Can a home theater be integrated with the rest of the house?
Yes, and it should be. When the theater lives on the same control platform as your lighting, shades, and audio, a single command can set the room, and the rest of the house can quiet down at the same time.
